A picture goes here An even simpler cartoon of CCD operation. After exposure to the rain, the rain is stopped. The belts all move enough to move one row of buckets onto the "transfer belt." It then moves one bucket at a time. When the bucket falls off, its contents are measured. The result is a "picture" of the rainfall distribution on the 10 x 10 pixel array.
